1 April 2010: Up In The Air

My fair today was at UMASS Boston which is a beautiful campus right on the water. It is also near Logan Airport so I watched planes all afternoon.

8 February 2010: Bean Town in HDR

I had a quick trip to Boston today for a visit and on my way out of town, I stopped to take a few photos that I again made into HDR photos.

If you love noodles and have never been to Wagamama's, find one and go! There really are not very many in the U.S. at this point so you may have to go the the UK. Hey, it's a great excuse for an overseas trip! The first ones in the States opened in Boston a couple years ago and I try to get there when I can and suggest you make the trek. Wagamama's YUM!!!!

7 April 2009 Photo: Red Sox Opening Day

I was down at the Colleges of the Fenway on the opening day of the Red Sox season. Luckily I avoided the crazy fanatical Sox fans as my meeting was done before the game began. This photo was taken from the 6th floor of the Mass College of Phamacy looking down Huntington.

11 March 2009 Photo: Hats or Haberdashery

I was walking around Boston on this day and found a hat store.  Now I am not someone who normally wears hats even in the dead of winter when is it below zero.  But I did find some hats in this window that would be fun to wear.

I like the word haberdashery but realized when I looked it up to write this blog that it is actually an obsolete term for hat seller.  I think I will start a movement to get this word back into our everyday language.

23 January 2009 Photo: The Green Monster

I was in Boston for a couple days this week and to stay with my "as American as apple pie" theme and the Chevy song from the January 21st post, I decided to highlight baseball. Now I could have found a Red Sox sign or the outside of Fenway but I decided to go with an icon that has been known to Bostonians and anyone who has watched a game in person or on TV at Fenway - The Citgo Sign.

This sign has been part of the urban landscape since 1965. When it was threatened to be demolished, like their Tea Party forefathers, Bostonians protested and succeeded! Today the sign still shines in the Kenmore Square area and I feel badly for anyone who ever makes the decision to try to take it down in the future.
