22 May 2010: Goin' To The Chapel...

Bill and I went to a wedding this weekend in Philadelphia. It was a beautiful wedding with many personal touches that make the day that much more special. Tim and Michelle looked so happy and so much in love it just makes you all warm and fuzzy! I also got to see some friends that I met through work that I haven't seen in quite some time.

It was a wonderful day and reminded me a lot of our wedding and hard to believe that it will be 5 years in October since Bill and I tied the knot and danced to At Last sung by Eva Cassidy!

15 May 2010: Memories Of Marriage

Calla lilies were used as the boutonnieres for Bill and the men in the wedding party as well as our families. They are one of my favorite flowers! I bought these today at the farmers market and hope they will last a while in the garden.

December 5 2009 Photo(s): Candymania Part Deux

Well here is some of the finished product getting ready to be shared with friends and family near and far. If you are one of the lucky ones you will get some. If you come to visit me, there is a good chance there will be some here. If you have had the pleasure of tasting it, you know it is good. If you have not, you don't know what you are missing. Click on the second picture and make it giant...your mouth will water :)

Fun fact #1: I grew up with my mother making this candy every Christmas. We always called it Mom's Famous Candy and I assumed it was her recipe (not that she ever said that). I saw an almost exact recipe in a cookbook once - someone must have copied hers. Right?

Fun fact #2: This candy was the favor at our wedding. My sister made 14 or 15 sheets of it and brought to RI in a separate suitcase on a plane all the way from Georgia. Can you imagine if they asked to inspect that suitcase? HAHA

UPDATE FROM PILLOWGATE: I have made 5 calls to the General Manager of the hotel...she has not called me back! Does that mean I can call the authorities on her? Or maybe the owners of the hotel?

7 October 2009 Photo: My Personal Poet

October 7th, 2005 was our wedding day and four years later my amazing husband surprised me with a beautiful poem and gifts. It was the perfect ending to a VERY long day. I was still traveling for work and got home just before midnight to this freshly painted box filled with leaves, our wedding vows framed, a poem and other gifts. Bill was at work and I was in tears because it was so heartwarming.

autumn leaves

whisper and dance

like two leaves from different trees we fell

winds of fate blew us together

like two seeds of fire

spiraling...smoldering

leaves of autumn

shades of red and yellow

aflame

two lives...two seeds

bursting into autumnal bloom

falling together

in love

we whisper...smile

and

dance

17 July 2009 Photo: A Day We Will Never Forget

On our way to RI today, Bill and I stopped by the place where we got married almost 4 years ago. Our wedding was in a truly idyllic setting at the Branford House in Avery Point, CT overlooking Long Island Sound. It was practically perfect in every way!

The photograph below is taken at our wedding by our friend Shai. He is an amazing photographer. Check out his stuff at http://www.shaiphoto.com/
