11 July 2010: Dino-Myte

It seems like the only time we go to Dinosaur BBQ is when there are friends or family visiting!

22 May 2010: Goin' To The Chapel...

Bill and I went to a wedding this weekend in Philadelphia. It was a beautiful wedding with many personal touches that make the day that much more special. Tim and Michelle looked so happy and so much in love it just makes you all warm and fuzzy! I also got to see some friends that I met through work that I haven't seen in quite some time.

It was a wonderful day and reminded me a lot of our wedding and hard to believe that it will be 5 years in October since Bill and I tied the knot and danced to At Last sung by Eva Cassidy!

8 May 2010: Babies

I went down to Ithaca today to take some pictures of friends who are pregnant with twins. They are going to be great moms to these two little bundles who are due in August. We had a great shoot out in some beautiful fields in town.

2 April 2010: Live Laugh Love

My friend, Linda, started making thess windchimes after she saw them here last year when she was visiting. She gave me one of her beautiful handmade chimes for my birthday and it has found it's home on the porch outside.

26 March 2010: Moments In Time

I am not sure when the moment happens. Sometimes it is instantly...sometimes a matter a months and honestly sometimes it never happens. The moment when your work colleagues become your friends. People you truly care about and want to keep in touch with even when you are not gossiping around the water cooler.

I was able to catch up this week with a friend I still work with and one that I haven't worked with for many years. It was great on both counts. Sometimes we get so wrapped up in work and forget that there is much more to connect with people about. It was nice to remember that those connections run deeper than projects or the most recent crisis. So whether it is crazy Kelly doing yoga poses on the window ledge in our hotel room or meeting Denise's beautiful baby girl for the first time, I am happy that those connections moved past the office and into a lasting friendship!

29 January 2010: Lost My Marbles

I am taking a lot of pictures while visiting a friend who is an amazing potter. He lives in an old farm house with tons of fun things to look at! Pottery pictures will have to wait til another day...for now I am intrigued with the marbles!

24 January 2010: Fieldstone Feast

We headed down to Ithaca today to enjoy a post holiday tradition with a good group of friends. I never quite got my camera back out unfortunately so this was the only picture I took of the omelet fixings. There was a ton more yummy stuff.

10 December 2009 Photo: Holiday Party

In December we are usually either overseas doing a visit to one of our schools/programs or in Glenside, PA having a Staff Retreat. This year was a PA year. Even though I must admit, I generally enjoy the overseas travel more, I definitely have a great time when I get to hang out with colleagues and friends in PA as well! It was an exhausting week of meetings starting at 8AM and going until 5 or 6PM but I work with some of the best people I know!

Microbrews have been all the rage for several years now. My friend Kelly's husband works for one of these microbreweries in PA. While I am not a beer drinker, my colleagues certainly enjoyed the wares that she brought with her to Glenside this week. Check out the many different types of beer that Weyerbacher brews here http://www.weyerbacher.com. Try one if you see them around!

Just a funny picture of the many faces of my crazy colleagues! When I first started working for Arcadia about 5 years ago, I started taking "Dumb Dru" pictures during all of our travels. Dru was joined by Amy and Todd for this "dumb" picture!

13 June 2009 Photo(s): Plenty Of Hot Air To Go Around

It was Day 2 of Balloon Festival. The balloons went up last night and this morning but unfortunately for my guests, they did not fly this evening. We had a fabulous time despite the lack of hot air in the balloons...if you knew my friends, you know that the hot air was still flowing!

I went to the balloon field this morning with Bill, my sister and my in-laws and we had a spectacular show as more than 20 balloons took off. As we were watching, Bill called them gems in the sky and I liked that phrase. The morning and early afternoon was lovely and pretty much as soon as my guests arrived, so did the rain. Despite the rain and no balloons flying, we had a great time catching up. The 2 little girls are Carlea and Nina after a rousing game of rug twister. Both of their parents also have blogs that you can check out to see more cute pictures...

I am in Minneapolis visiting some friends. My friend Amy picked me up at the airport and took me on a tour of Minneapolis. I have only been her once before and it was for a conference so I didn't get to see much besides the conference center and the hotels/downtown area. Today she took me for a walk on the Stone Arch Bridge and we went past several old flour mills. I never realized that Minneapolis used to be a hot bed for the flour industry. Learn something new every day!
