5 August 2010: Crazy Colleagues

We had a staff gathering by the "Water Feature" at Arcadia. I have been taking crazy pictures of my friends I met through Arcadia all over the world for the last six years. Here's to many more photo opps...

26 March 2010: Moments In Time

I am not sure when the moment happens. Sometimes it is instantly...sometimes a matter a months and honestly sometimes it never happens. The moment when your work colleagues become your friends. People you truly care about and want to keep in touch with even when you are not gossiping around the water cooler.

I was able to catch up this week with a friend I still work with and one that I haven't worked with for many years. It was great on both counts. Sometimes we get so wrapped up in work and forget that there is much more to connect with people about. It was nice to remember that those connections run deeper than projects or the most recent crisis. So whether it is crazy Kelly doing yoga poses on the window ledge in our hotel room or meeting Denise's beautiful baby girl for the first time, I am happy that those connections moved past the office and into a lasting friendship!

21 January 2010: On The Road Again

Week one down after a long hiatus. It felt good to be back on campuses, talking to students and seeing my road warrior peeps again! Another day...another campus tree!

20 January 2010: Dinner For One

Usually when I am on the road I am doing work dinners or seeing friends in the various cities and towns I am in, but sometimes it is just nice to be alone after a long day of speaking to students.

19 January 2010: Career Counseling

If I had to do it all over again...I would major in photography, digital imaging, design, or something like that!

31 May 2009 Photo: Joining The Cult

Well it has finally happened, I've joined the iphone cult. It was not expected, but my work phone finally died and it happened. When I inquired if I would be getting a new tilt or a refurb or at best a blackberry, the email came back saying it was being replaced with an iphone. I wrote back..."Are you kidding?" I am now glad I rigged my old phone to work for the last few months with a rubber band and a prayer because if I had gotten it replaced in March when it started acting up, there would be no iphone in my world right now.

My friend refers herself to an iphone widow...I don't think I am that bad but you will have to ask Bill. The land of the apps is yet to be thoroughly explored since I've only had it for a few days, but all in good time. For now, I am happy to be reconnected!

26 January 2009 Photo: Hotel Mania

This is my first full week back on the road for work and although I already did several visits, this was my first hotel stay of the semester since I stayed with friends and family last week. I am on the road about 3-4 days a week during each semester and spend a lot of times in hotels. I thought in honor of my "Road Warrior" life it would be appropriate to have photos from time to time of the hotels I stay in. They are usually pretty nondescript but when I walked into my hotel room today in Portsmouth NH, I saw a lot of my favorite color. Can you tell what it is?
