More wonderful subjects from my friends farmhouse!

29 January 2010: Lost My Marbles

I am taking a lot of pictures while visiting a friend who is an amazing potter. He lives in an old farm house with tons of fun things to look at! Pottery pictures will have to wait til another day...for now I am intrigued with the marbles!

28 January 2010: Frozen Falls

One of the beauties of winter driving...frozen water cascading down on the side of the road!

27 January 2010: Church Street

We had a social with the staff of the colleges I am visiting this week and the "Road Warriors". It is always a good time when we get together away from the fairs to unwind and catch up. These were taken on Church St. which is one of my favorite places in Burlington!

26 January 2010: Not So Green Mountains

I got to Vermont in the late afternoon and was greeted by this picturesque shot of a bare tree branch and snow capped mountains.

25 January 2010: Fallen Feathers

I have had a little obsession with feathers this month. This was I found on the ground while visiting Hamilton College.

24 January 2010: Fieldstone Feast

We headed down to Ithaca today to enjoy a post holiday tradition with a good group of friends. I never quite got my camera back out unfortunately so this was the only picture I took of the omelet fixings. There was a ton more yummy stuff.

23 January 2010: AFLAC

I went and met up with a bunch of the members from the Syracuse Photographers Association today at Websters Pond. Apparently these ducks and geese didn't fly south either.

The first one reminds me of the AFLAC duck and the second one - well... A duck walks into a pharmacy, and asks for Chapstick. The cashier says, "Cash or check?" and the duck says, "Just put it on my bill."

22 January 2010: Forgot To Fly South

Green Lakes is filled with Canada geese. They may have started flying south but didn't make it very far! Their feathers are now encased in ice!

21 January 2010: On The Road Again

Week one down after a long hiatus. It felt good to be back on campuses, talking to students and seeing my road warrior peeps again! Another day...another campus tree!

20 January 2010: Dinner For One

Usually when I am on the road I am doing work dinners or seeing friends in the various cities and towns I am in, but sometimes it is just nice to be alone after a long day of speaking to students.

19 January 2010: Career Counseling

If I had to do it all over again...I would major in photography, digital imaging, design, or something like that!

18 January 2010: Is It Spring Yet??

Spring? Not so much. Freakin' cold again - yep, that's the ticket or icicle.

17 January 2010

17 January 2010: I'm A MAC

Well I finally did it. I bought my first computer EVER. It is hard to believe that I have never owned a computer but instead used work computers or Bill's computers. Now I am the proud owner of my new imac and I LOVE IT! You know you are jealous!

This photo was taken with Photo Booth to make us Warholesque!

16 January 2010: A Study In Angels

We drove by this massive cemetery today and decided to drive through. I have always had a thing for angels and found some pretty amazing examples in this cemetery.

15 January 2010: Sugar High

Bill and I went to the Freihofer Outlet to pick up some bread. What a deal - 3 loaves of bread for 3 bucks! When we were leaving there was a truck overflowing with bread, donuts, cookies, etc. I hope they drive slowly!

14 January 2010

14 January 2010: Wicked: Take Two

We went to see Wicked tonight in Syracuse. I saw it with my sisters right after Christmas. It was just as good the second time around! Next time - I need to see it on Broadway!

Pictures aren't great as I was trying to take them without getting caught!

13 January 2010: The Show Must...Come Down

These were the three pieces I had in the Syracuse Photographers Assocation show. It came down last night amidst a gallery party for our members. We are already planning our next show!

12 January 2010: Chillaxin'

Mona had not made an appearance this year so I figured it was time...still cute as ever as she chillaxes in her memory foam bed!

11 January 2010: Nonpareils

I got nothing...just nonpareils

10 January 2010: Life's A Ditch

Today we went back out the the frozen tundra/winter wonderland. The skies were bluer, the sun was brighter and I was ready for more photography! It was even more magical than than yesterday...that is until I drove into a ditch! I assumed the edge of the road was solid because it was a few hundred feet before...but alas it was a soft shoulder. Thank goodness for AAA...they were there in about 20 minutes. Bill napped in the car while we waited and I walked around the road doing guess what...taking photographs!

9 January 2010: Frozen Tundra

We ventured out today for a drive because the sun actually came out for a bit and the sky was blue.  Amazing after 12 straight days of snow!  It was frigid out.  I had a hard time getting the camera to work, not to mention my fingers.  The pains of photography are never-ending...first I broke my ankle and now frost bite!

8 January 2010: Is The Freedom Rock(s)?

Well turn it up, dude! Who remembers that commercial?  No, not freedom rock just some stones in a candle holder!

7 January 2010: Lost Little Lady

We found a ladybug in the house to our surprise since it is January and they are usually not around in weather this cold.

06 January 2010

6 January 2010: Water Wizardry

I was doing some dishes today and while cleaning a bottle, the water erupted off the top. I captured some cool stuff during this water fall experiment!

5 January 2010: Only A Foot(ish)

Apparently Syracuse and Fulton, NY have been mentioned several times on The Today Show and I have had a few people contact me asking if we were buried in snow. Luckily I live about 20 minutes south of Syracuse which is 30 minutes south of Fulton. Fulton has gotten about 4 feet of snow, Syracuse about 2 feet and here in Jamesville...ONLY a foot.

Luckily we have good and plenitful snow plow drivers so our roads are clear and there has not been a run on milk and bread at the grocery store. We are working on day NINE of snow...luckily it is the light fluffy lake effect snow. The kind that does not accumulate quickly and come down even when the sun is out!

4 January 2010: Just Keep Snowing...

Just Keep Snowing...What does it do...It snows...It LOVES to snow...LA LA LA LA LA LA. Sub-reference to Finding Nemo and Dory's rendition of "Just keep swimming".

It has been snowing here since I returned from RI on December 28! Not heavy snow...just annoying constant snow.
