5 August 2010: Crazy Colleagues

We had a staff gathering by the "Water Feature" at Arcadia. I have been taking crazy pictures of my friends I met through Arcadia all over the world for the last six years. Here's to many more photo opps...

27 February 2010: Delaware Water Gap

We made a quick stop at the Delaware Water Gap on the way home from NYC. It was not quite as picturesque as I remember but then again there was a lot of snow to impede our ability to get around!

22 January 2010: Forgot To Fly South

Green Lakes is filled with Canada geese. They may have started flying south but didn't make it very far! Their feathers are now encased in ice!

6 January 2010: Water Wizardry

I was doing some dishes today and while cleaning a bottle, the water erupted off the top. I captured some cool stuff during this water fall experiment!

26 October 2009 Photo(s): Ghosts On Parade At Green Lakes

So bear with me since there are many pictures on today's post...I got out of the house yesterday afternoon and headed to one of the NY State Parks. I also finished the ghost cakepops early this morning so I felt I needed to include them in here as well.

Bill and I went out to Green Lakes to check out the fall colors as it was a beautiful sunny Sunday. It is a great place to go hiking but since I couldn't do much hiking, I hobbled down to the lake for a bit and then we drove around and stopped on the side of the road so I could take some photographs. The tree pictures that look like someone was laying on the ground to take the pictures were our attempt of couple photography. I saw the picture I wanted but since I was unable to get on the ground to snap it, I metered the picture and set Bill up in the position I thought would get the shot I wanted. He did a great job! I love them and thanks to Bill for laying down on the wet leaves!

And the Halloween cakepops are FINALLY done. The ghosts are cute and as each time I have made these, I learn something new that would make it easier. If you want a cakepop, come on by to visit.

3 October 2009 Photo(s): Perfect Fall Day

After a VERY long week on the road and being sick, I finally had a day free to spend with Bill. We went to the Farmers Market, went to see a fellow photo enthusiasts show at a local coffee shop and then we went wandering about the area near our house. The trees are still not in full peak but we found some great photos around the Jamesville Reservoir, Fiddlers Green Park and the side of the road (while trying not to get hit by passing cars). It was a wonderful afternoon with my wonderful husband!

27 September 2009 Photo: "Reddy" Or Not

The rain has returned after a lack of precipitation for most of September. I hope this water will help to make the fall foliage more brilliant this season.

10 September 2009 Photo: Beach Treasures

One thing that has not disappeared as I have gotten older is looking for treasures on the beach. Sea glass and shells and cool rocks always catch my eye as I walk on the beach.

1 September 2009 Photo: Smooth As Glass

Today marks a couple things...my first day back out on the road for work and beginning my 9th month of doing this blog. As I was driving to Vermont, I drove through the Adirondack State Park and found this serene scene along the way. It was just so peaceful since no one was out and about yet and I had it all to myself!

13 July 2009: Dirty Daisy

I was dead-heading some of the plants in my yard and popped off this "undead" bloom by mistake. I decided to play around with the bowl of water in the yard and above is the result. Click on it to make it bigger and see the details.

Raindrops on roses...or irises and whiskers on kittens. Click on the photos...looks much cooler when bigger so you can really see the details.

7 May 2009 Photo(s): Blame It On The Rain

On my way back from the gym today, I heard Milli Vanilli's Blame It On The Rain and when I drove into my driveway, the rain had stopped and I noticed the flowers were bathed in my favorite little droplets of water. I feel like a flower photographer these days but I can't help it because the spring has produced such beatiful specimens and unlike Milli Vanilli, they are not faking it. If you are sick of my flower photographs...you can blame it on the rain! And if you want to torture yourself, you can watch MV here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NwrL9MV6jSk

6 May 2009 Photo: Fire Hydrant Yellow?

Growing up I only remember fire hydrants and fire truck being red. As I got older and saw yellow fire trucks, I was dismayed. Wasn't "fire engine red" a real color? I recently noticed this fire hydrant on our street and it was also yellow. Thanks to taking this picture and preparing for this blog post, I now know why hydrants are different colors. Do you? If you are curious...you can find out here http://www.newmarketfire.com/trivia.htm

1 May 2009 Photo: Call The Plumber

We had a quick thunderstorm move through today. I love thunder and lightening and after today's storm, the skies had gotten blue and the drips were falling from our gutters. Yes, I know more droplets of water...sorry I like and it's my blog! Hope you like it too.
