6 May 2009 Photo: Fire Hydrant Yellow?

Growing up I only remember fire hydrants and fire truck being red. As I got older and saw yellow fire trucks, I was dismayed. Wasn't "fire engine red" a real color? I recently noticed this fire hydrant on our street and it was also yellow. Thanks to taking this picture and preparing for this blog post, I now know why hydrants are different colors. Do you?
