5 February 2010: My First HDR

So I am sort of cheating on this photo since it was not technically taken today. I took 3 pictures last week using bracketing for the exposure so that I could try a photography technique called HDR (High Dynamic Range). I just downloaded the program needed to do this technique in my mind it is a "new" picture. Either way this is what I have for you today...like it or leave it! The second picture is the non HDR version so you can see the difference. Pretty cool, huh?

If you want to know more about HDR, here are couple of the best sites I found that explains it: http://www.tkrphoto.com/hdr/hdr-faq/ or http://www.digitalphotopro.com/technique/software-technique/xdr-part-iv.html.

29 January 2010: Lost My Marbles

I am taking a lot of pictures while visiting a friend who is an amazing potter. He lives in an old farm house with tons of fun things to look at! Pottery pictures will have to wait til another day...for now I am intrigued with the marbles!

29 July 2009 Photo: Lots O' Pots

I love pots and pottery and things to put stuff in. I have more pots and containers and things to be stuff in than I can use. Is that a problem?

27 March 2009 Photo: Handcrafted in Central NY

I stopped at MacKenzie Childs and am always overwhelmed by all the colors. This is another one of the central NY claims to fame. This upscale, extremely expensive pottery and furniture is very unique and colorful. I can't see having much of it in our house as it is not really my style. However there are a few pieces I like, but can't afford. We do have a very cool MacKenzie-Childs forged iron dinner/door bell on our house (it was a gift). It is a great place to visit and it is right on one of the finger lakes (Cayuga) which is gorgeous.
